The sun is shining, birds are singing and everything seems just great – it’s the perfect day for the beach, to go for a swim or have a picnic with the family. It is also the perfect opportunity for you to take extra care of your skin. Having healthy skin is important. Here are a few skin care tips:
Taking care of your skin should be part of your daily routine no matter what the season. However, during the summer months, protecting your skin from the harsh rays of the sun should be your #1 priority!
Clean up your act
Whether or not you wear makeup, cleaning your face should become as important as brushing your teeth – every morning and every night. Don’t think that ordinary soap will do. You should use a mild cleanser that is fragrance and chemical free. Fragrances and chemicals only contribute to skin irritations and clogged pores.
Go for a trusted brand of cleansers with a good reputation. Don’t go for the “cheap stuff,” as you will only be “cutting off your nose to spite your face “– literally!
Hype up on hydration
During the summer months, keeping your skin hydrated is vital in order to avoid any unnecessary, unattractive dryness. Hydrate your skin by making sure you are drinking enough water, and also use a good moisturizer.
Splurge on the sunscreen
Never, ever, leave the house without making sure that your face is well protected with adequate sunscreen. It doesn’t matter if you’re going to be in your car all day; the rays of the sun are extremely powerful and can penetrate right through your windshield. And if you’re deliberately going out into the sun for a picnic or to hang out at the beach, make sure your smear sunscreen all over your body every two hours.
